I decided to enter the 2013 Last Comic Standing Bend competition. It was my first time doing stand up and I had a great time… and I won!

Time to sign up for summer tennis
It’s time to sign up early for our summer tennis program, which fills up fast. We have over 100 kids a day during the summer playing tennis at Juniper Park in Bend. You can find all the info HERE.
Year of 12 of coaching tennis at Summit
My 12th year of coaching high school tennis is underway and it’s off to a great start. We had a really talented team last season, our best ever. We set a Class 5A boys record for points scored at the state championships, but we lost five great players from that team. We return a skilled-group of players this year and are hoping to contend for another state championship. We’ve got a very deep team, with a roster of 32 players and over 20 that could contend for the top-12 varsity spots.
It’s going to be a fun year… I know this because it always is!
Spring sports are just around the corner
I highly recommend that all high school students take advantage of the great sport opportunities that the spring offers here in Oregon.
2012… best year of my life
Of course it wasn’t a perfect year, no year ever is, but I have to say that 2012 was my best year ever!!!
Did some great traveling, spent awesome time with family and friends and all and all had a fabulous time.

My tennis mission
I love tennis as you might have noticed. I especially love teaching and coaching youngsters. I’ve seen what a positive force tennis can be in children’s lives and I want to dedicate myself to that cause. So I’ve recently clarified my tennis mission. It starts with getting tennis rackets in as many kids’ hands as possible. The post below is a start on how I hope to go about my mission.
Record numbers in our summer tennis program
We had record numbers in our summer tennis program. The Bend Bulletin wrote a great article about our summer tennis program. While the numbers are amazing, they haven’t even scratched the surface of what I have planned for tennis in Bend, Oregon. We just need more tennis courts to work with. We’ve basically maxed out what can be done on the four courts at Juniper Park. We need an eight-court complex at least in Bend. I’ve started that process with this face book page, “Bend Needs More Tennis Courts.”

Summer tennis is off to a great start
We are packing the tennis courts @ Bend’s Juniper Park with youngsters swinging tennis rackets, some for the first time ever! We have nearly 125 kids in the first summer session, about 24 kids an hour on 4 courts. Such a great time, the kids seem to be loving it!
